| Case-in-point...
Five years ago I was made aware that politics
has/have become spiritual warfare! It may have
always been the basis for irritation of the
spirit but in recent years I have noticed a true spiritual
objective. Eight years ago the Religious Right, a
political group who represent the
"church," became the determining factor
for winning the White House. That was the final
act of bringing politics into the tent of
"spiritual warfare." Over the last five
years... people have sent political articles that
usually have been written by professional
propaganda writers... those who write and
circulate false information. It seems to have
become acceptable, over the last several years,
for those who promote their "party"
choice, to lie for the candidate of choice.
Deceit and lies are abundant... I keep explaining
the truth to those who send them. It doesn't
work! They can't understand the obvious... It is
frustrating to explain the same truth four, five
or six times, only to realize that the person
still can't understand. I'm talking simple
truths! The purpose of this page is not to take
sides... only to make the point. I would not vote
for either political candidate but I do expose
lies and deceit... either side of the aisle is my
target. Lies are lies. Politics seem to be a busy
arena for spiritual warfare.
A close friend
and I talk about this obvious inability for
certain people to understand, or discern truth
from lies! A large segment of the general
population seems to be mesmerized or in a
trance... they can't see the obvious truth! I had
just about decided that these people, who are in
a trance-like state, had already received some
sort of "mark" or device that puts the
victim into a hypnotic trance. The sort of trance
that would disable a person and keep them from
hearing or discerning the truth. I'm being very
serious! It has become quiet obvious to several
of my friends and me.
Under normal
circumstances you could just brush it off but
these days, the church and politics are "in
bed" and makes for a dangerous mix. The type
of mix that Jesus refused to associate himself.
"Render unto Caesar that which belongs to
Caesar and unto God what belongs to God."
(paraphrasing in use)
It appears to me
that there is influence in the pulpit...
influence from agencies that mirror the political
realm. It makes no sense to me that most churches
preach a pro-war doctrine.. that is not from God!
The larger the church, the harder they preach for
war. This should not be confused with
patriotism... it is right out of the books of
political propaganda writers. It appears there is
influence in the upper hierarchy of all
denominations and it appears that most local
pastors agree with the pro-war doctrine... Is it
"trickle down" or is it spiritual? It
is not from God! Where are the preachers getting
their instructions?
I talk about
these folks and wonder; how can they be held
responsible to God for knowing the difference
between good and evil if they can't discern the
difference between truth and deception? Over the
last five years I have struggled with this... It
has occurred to me that the inability to discern
the difference between right and wrong are
characteristic of the "unsaved" or the
antithesis of those who have been "born
again."
John Hagee, a
famous evangelical, TV celebrity is the most
ardent! He preaches regularly... in favor of
destroying any and all countries that might be a
threat to Israel. As a result he is preaching a
self fulfilling prophecy! The people are so full
of hatred for all countries in the Middle East
that they have inflamed the region and caused
extreme hatred and violence! This outcry has been
inflammatory and harmful to Israel. Does this
look to be of God? I think preachers who are
pro-war should leave the pulpit! The pulpit is
for saving souls, not encouraging war! We
maintain a military for our protection not
preemptive war. The scriptures warn us about wars
against Israel but the scriptures do not suggest
that those people who cause the destruction are
"of" God or speak for God. I would
think that it is the opposite. I think those who
are responsible for inflaming the world against
Israel and bringing on the great war are evil. Be
careful! A Christian has no business stumping for
war!
Jesus talked
about those who could hear and know His voice and
those who could not. Jesus indicated; "My
sheep will hear and know my voice."
NOTE: When
you think about it, in a democracy, the person
you elect determines war, killing, deprivation,
genocide, church/state relationships. Yes!
Politics are truly SPIRITUAL WARFARE! Abortion...
the topic that the "party" keeps
talking about but does nothing.
The murder of millions of unborn children. That's
just the tip of the iceberg! There's lots more!
The person who votes this person into office is
accepting responsibility! I wonder how many
Preachers, Teachers, Priests and Rabbis are
committed to the 2nd death when they took the
wrong turn... when they turned politician and
left the pulpit. Same as the Temple Priests
"fouled" in the act of condemning
Jesus!
"Few
will enter"
It's that
simple! Those who can discern the truth are
hearing the instructions from Jesus... those who
cannot discern truth from lies hear another
entity's voice. That is alarming! Especially when
it is such a terrible sin against God and man...
yet these folks seem to think it is OK to
circulate lies! This is very dangerous for the
country and I expect the worse!
Over the last
five years I have had horrible e-mail exchanges
with people who cannot see the obvious. It has
been frustrating! Finally, the Lord has seen fit
to give me some rest. He let me understand the
problem. That happened today... 10-26-2008.
I can't say I am
at ease with the new-found knowledge but at least
I understand.
What have I
learned?
1) Accept the
fact that in a Democracy; the people get the
government they deserve...
2) Simply to do
and act as Jesus did... state the truth and go on
your way. Do not get worked into a frenzy. You
only look foolish when you frantically try to
explain the truths and the person is not
spiritually capable of understanding the truth.
If the person has spiritual ears or can hear
truth, then that person will understand. If that
same person is incapable or
refuses to understand; Jesus
says to shake the dust from your sandals and get
on down the road. (yep, paraphrased as usual)
It makes no
difference if that person is family or a very
close friend... if they don't have spiritual ears
you will only drive them away. Sad but obviously
true. Jesus explained that we
come to have a relationship with The Father
through Him... NOT THROUGH YOU OR ME OR ANY OTHER
TEACHER. We can only deliver the message, the
rest is up to God and the individual.
3) So... don't
get all worked up! Just tell the truth, go your
way and "when" and
"if" the time comes
for that person to break through, your testimony
will come through. Sometimes it is hard to do
because you care! You want to help but the fact
is... YOU CAN'T MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Hope this helps,
John
