| I
was working in the kitchen as I was praying for
answers. Many answers are given me while in the
shower or washing dishes... strange isn't it? I
have wondered if there is some Godly path for
messages associated with water? The water baptism
occurred to me. I leave that for another day, my
purpose in this message is to pass on what was
given me. It is short. I was asking
my Lord, Jesus, "Why some people are not
given obvious truths and wisdom?" I mean,
why doesn't He just tell all of us the truth?
While the answer to that is covered in many
different scriptures and lessons, I was more
specific in asking why some of the people who
profess to know Him are not enlightened in the
most basic things. It goes without saying that
there are different levels of understanding for
each of us but I was addressing the very basic
issues. Understanding "from above"
comes as a gift but it also depends on the amount
of sacrifice in time and study. I am sure there
are many people who are saved or "born
again" that know very little about divine
things... or at least I think I am sure?
His
answer came. He referred me to Matthew 11:25 and
revealed in my mind that those who are not His
children must not see these truths or they could
misuse the knowledge... In other words, knowledge
from the Divine mind of God is reserved for His
children, not the ungodly. I was intrigued
because this scripture has always been somewhat a
mystery to me. A chuckle came as I realized the
methods He uses with His kids. Matthew
11: 25 At
that time Jesus prayed this prayer: “O
Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding
these things from
those who think themselves wise and clever, and
for revealing them to the childlike. 26
Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way!
Here
it is in the book of Mark chapter 4:11
He replied, “You are permitted to understand
the secret of the Kingdom of God. But I use
parables for everything I say to outsiders, 12
so that the Scriptures might be fulfilled:
"When
they see what I do, they will learn nothing. When
they hear what I say, they will not understand.
Otherwise, they will turn to me and be forgiven."
13 Then Jesus
said to them, “If you can’t understand
the meaning of this parable, how will you
understand all the other parables?"
WOW!
Did you understand that? Read it as often as you
need to but understand it.
Several
days later as I was contemplating this
experience, He gave to me several other things to
include in this message to the reader... I don't
know why this was to be included, I don't argue,
I just do as He instructs... Luke,
Chapter 16:8 “The rich man had to admire the
dishonest rascal for being so shrewd. And
it is true that the children of this world are
more shrewd in dealing with the world around them
than are the children of the light.
Imagine
that! Jesus came right out and told us that the
ungodly are more shrewd in cheating ways!
Then
He wanted me to tell you that you are tested here
on earth. Luke
16:10“If you are faithful in little things,
you will be faithful in large ones. But if you
are dishonest in little things, you won’t be
honest with greater responsibilities. 11
And if you are untrustworthy about worldly
wealth, who will
trust you with the true
riches of heaven?
Time
to get serious about this heaven thing! Do you
really want to go to heaven or do you even
believe the word of the Son of God? It looks as
though most people do not! Maybe that is why
Jesus said, "The road is narrow and few will
find it." (paraphrased as usual)
