Oakridge Lake Estates was a small lakefront rental community on Lake Hamilton, Hot Springs, Arkansas. Oakridge was developed by my father. Dad was a real estate developer and this was his last project designed to be his retirement income. At this time my dad was fifty-0ne-years old. Oakridge consisted of a three bedroom log house in which we lived. The drafty old log house was very rustic with a very primitive fireplace - Our only source of heat. My dad built nine rental houses some of which were on the waterfront. You'll notice the road behind me is gravel. Most folks here in the rural areas lived on gravel or dirt roads.

I enjoyed hunting and fishing - camping just about every weekend with my buddies at various secluded areas of lake Hamilton. This area was then a very wild and primitive area. Many times we had to go by boat to get to the wild, isolated areas. We carried guns and shot game for our food when camping. My friends were all several years older than I was. Being a big kid I always ran with an older crowd.

While my friends and I were camping we had several paranormal experiences that are unexplainable and supernatural.

Coincidence? The oldest cemetery in Garland County adjoined our property.

My cousin from Burbank, California came for a visit. He went back home with true stories about buying and drinking moonshine whiskey, spotlighting rabbits at night and wild car rides that he thought only Hollywood Stuntmen could perform. The true episodes were not believed by his buddies back in California. Just another day for us Arkansas boys here in the hills but it was a lifetime experience for my cousin who was a Hep, Swinging, Dude from California.
